The learning capabilities of artificial neural networks (ANNs) to identify and emulate the behavior of complicated nonlinear systems have made them effective tools that can be utilized in intelligent adaptive control strategies. The use of ANNs in the design of trajectory tracking controllers for robotic manipulators is dated back to the 1980s. Due to the flexibility of their structure as well as the continuous development and enhancement of their self-training algorithms, the use of ANNs in the field of robotic manipulator trajectory tracking control is being considered an important research area. This textbook explains in great detail the process of designing an effective controller to enhance the trajectory tracking performance of a two degree of freedom (2-DOF) robotic arm using neural networks. Feed-forward ANNs were used in both model-based and non-model-based control strategies. Since it also includes a deep explanation of the modeling of the 2-DOF robotic arm system including its actuating DC-motors and their control using a PD controller, this textbook can also serve as an effective educational tool for both undergraduate and graduate electrical engineering students.

The essence of the conceptual design is getting the innovative projects or ideas to promise the products with best performance. It has been proved that the theory of inventive problem solution (TRIZ) is a systematic methodology for innovation. Passively compliant robotic joint design as an engineering example is illuminated in this book to show the significance and approaches of applying TRIZ into getting the creative conceptual design ideas. The main goal is to design the compliant robotic joint with conductive silicone rubber elements as internal sensors. The sensor-elements can operate as absorbers of excessive external collision force instead of springs and dampers. Therefore, this joint presents one type of safe robotic mechanisms with an internally measuring system. The sensor-elements were made by press-curing from carbon-black filled silicone rubber. The experimental results show that the greatest advantage of this material lies in its high stretchiness and high compression velocity. A new method is presented for detecting the direction of the robotic joint rotation when subjected to an external collision force.

The book is discussed on the design, analysis and fabrication of Articulated Robotic Arm for handling glass product. The project is to differentiate glass and other objects based on reflective theory. The discussion shows the design of the articulated robotic arm in detail and the chronology of the project. Mechanical design software was used to model the detail design of the robotic arm, and to simulate the motion of the device. In this project, plastic material was used to construct the body of the robotic arm, and an optical sensor was implemented to provide basic recognition of object to be carried. The robotic arm used four servomotors for overall operation; three for its joints, and one for the gripping mechanism. The gripper was designed and fabricated using aluminum sheet due to the high strength-to-density ratio of the material. The operation of the robotic arm was governed by Basic Stamp programming sequence.

The cultural framework explores the contributory factors of each part of the system from a cultural perspective. The HFACS framework is used as a tool to establish the gaps and ultimately how the cultural components are integrated into the framework. The paper provides similar expression in the new integrated framework which will be symmetrical to the aim. Ultimately, the integration of the cultural and HFACS-SYS framework is to produce an additional diagnostic tool to the existing HFACS framework.The previous analyses show that on some highly critical cultural factors, factors which have played a major part in previous accidents is not currently detected.
