This prospective, randomized, double-blind investigation evaluated the influence of a short-time artificial change of occlusion to the upper cervical spine mobility. Twenty 14-19 aged female dancers were investigated in a cross-over-design on head movement rotation in anteflexion with a three-dimensional ultrasonic measurement device, the Zebris 3D Motion Analyzer (CMS 70 P). A change of the occlusion was produced by positioning a 0.75mm foil of tin between premolar and first molar of the right side. Towards the current theory of convergence of cervical and trigeminal nerves the change of occlusion should enlarge tensions in the suboccipital muscles and consequently decrease the mobility of the upper spine. The results of this investigation are: There were no significant differences in measuring movements of the upper cervical spine in dependence of changes of the occlusion. Assessments of the probationers to the changes in tension or motion support these results.

The use of flow diverting stents for treatment of intracranial aneurysms leads to ischemic complications. It is hypothesized that alteration in hemodynamics after placement of stents plays a vital role in ischemia (vessel occlusion). This project uses Computational Fluid Dynamics to study the alterations in hemodynamics before and after placement of stent with respect to the relative diameter of the bifurcating arteries on idealized geometries using ANSYS-CFX 15.0. Pressure and flow rate waveforms were extracted from a 1D model of the arterial tree to simulate hemodynamic conditions correctly. The results show that there are significant changes in hemodynamics (pressure and wall shear stress) before and after placement of stent. These changes are also affected by the relative diameters of the bifurcating arteries. The trends observed in hemodynamics can be interpreted by clinicians to study vessel occlusion and its relation to the relative diameters of arteries. The results have a potential to assist in treatment of aneurysms without ischemic complications.

Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2017 in the subject Medicine - Dentistry, , course: prosthodontics and crown & bridges, language: English, abstract: This disseratation has the purpose to find the correlation between the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) and length of fingers in U.P. west region. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 200 medically fit dentate subjects comprising of 100 males and 100 females. Anthropometric measurements of vertical dimension of occlusion, length of index finger, length of little finger and distance from tip of thumb and tip of index finger of right hand were recorded clinically using digital vernier caliper. Correlation between VDO and length of fingers was studied using Spearman's Coefficient. For the execution of regression command and Preparation of predictable equations to estimate VDO, IBM statistical package for social sciences software version 24.0 was used. VDO was significantly and positively correlated in the parameters studied. Correlation of VDO was strongest for length of Index Finger (r- 0.288), whereas in males it was strongest for length of little finger (r- 0.102). VDO estimation using regression equation had a standard error of ±4.76 in males and ±4.5 in females for length of Index finger, ±4.2 and ±4.4 in males and females respectively for little finger, ± 1.09 and ± 9.6 in males and females respectively for distance from tip of thumb to tip of index finger. Model Based Testing (MBT) is a new-age test automation technique traditionally used for Functional Black-Box Testing. Its capability of generating test cases by using model developed from the analysis of the abstract behaviour of the System under Test is gaining popularity. Researchers have tough time in adapting this technique for modelling non functional requirements. This thesis work helps to provide a new and unique method for modeling of those requirements for MBT. An experimental analysis, backed by observations of using the new proposed method indicates that the method is efficient enough to carry out modeling non-functional requirements along with modeling of functional requirements by identifying the appropriate approach.

Cheese being one of the common daily food source, an attempt is made to enhance its protein value by including the whey proteins. Whey protein is a functional food and is lost during the curdling process while making cheese. Three different concentrations of hydrolysed whey proteins were added to mild cheddar cheese and their physical and sensory properties were assessed to find the ideal combination. There is a need for more awareness about functional foods and the food industry should take up the responsibility to incorporate the functional ingredients in their products and make it available to general public in the market at a reasonable price. This study also provides scope for further research for fortifying food ingredients with functional foods.
