The advancement in computer technology has encouraged the researchers to develop software for assisting doctors in making decision without consulting the specialists directly. The software development exploits the potential of human intelligence such as reasoning, making decision, learning by experiencing and many others. Knowledge based system is a computer program that uses artificial intelligence or expert system techniques to solve problems in a fashion similar to the expert. Knowledge based systems can assist physicians in diagnosing medical problems of a patient or help in the interpretation of medical test results. This book focuses on the methodological aspects of design and development of knowledge based systems that aim to support physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis (TB). The development of this knowledge based system involves knowledge acquisition, knowledge modeling, knowledge representation and implementation of the prototype system. Particularly the investment advisors see themselves confronted with a multiplicity of time-critical decision problems under uncertainty and high complexity. The investment advisor lives besides on the re-use of experiences from earlier consulting discussions. With case-based reasoning systems it is possible to cope a large part of the problem field complexity and the system is able to learn for new decision problems. The processing of the problem field of vague knowledge can be counteracted in combination with the fuzzy set theory. So the combination of case-based reasoning systems with the fuzzy set theory is a suitable problem solution method for the decision support in the investment advice. During the realization of a such system, always it is to give attention to the three dimensions human resource management, organization and information and communication technology. Moreover, understanding the discourse function of questions will help learners master the uses of questions. The purpose of the present study was to verify the applicability of Tsui's (1995) model of conversational analysis, specifically to the different subclasses of 'Elicitation questions' (i.e., inform, agree, commit, repeat and clarify) in English and Persian. This study also intended to contrast the subcategories of 'Elicitation questions' in English and Persian modern plays. To achieve the objectives, three modern English plays and three modern Persian plays were selected. In order to determine the frequency of each subcategory of 'Elicitation questions' of each language 361 instances from the English plays and 337 instances from the Persian plays were analyzed and compared. A Chi-square test was used to determine whether the difference was statistically significant.The results indicated that Tsui's characterization of the elicitation regardless of its syntactic form is feasible. The history of knowledge management reveals that different trends and developments influenced the evolution of a new management theory. Advanced information technologies that enable global knowledge-sharing and the recognition that people are the most valuable resource in a fast changing environment are the main reasons why knowledge management has become increasingly important. An attempt to clarify the terminology demonstrates that there is no generally accepted definition of knowledge management. This report defines knowledge management according to the three dimensions content, culture and infrastructure and thus, provides a basic framework to the main knowledge processes. The differentiation between the ‘codification’ approach and the ‘personalisation’ approach is essential in the evaluation of the implementation process. The first approach mainly relies on computer systems and databases whereas the latter focuses on person-to-person contacts. Both strategies can be combined to a certain extent, however, the main focus should only be on one of the two strategies. The most common pitfalls for ineffective knowledge-sharing are cultural barriers and the fact that many organisations overestimate the role of technology.
