Inverse creep is a phenomenon, which is found to occur in viscoelastic materials when the applied stress is partially reduced. At this reduced stress, the strain in the material reduces continuously with time, though it is still under stress. Inverse creep values depend on the material and also on its stress history. During weaving of a fabric, weft threads are inserted in between the warp threads, which are along the direction of the fabric production. A weft thread undergoes variation in stress during weaving. It is at high stress when it is being laid down in the fabric. But the stress may not reduce to zero once the thread is laid down; thus giving rise to the phenomenon of inverse creep. Creep of textile materials has been measured by number of researchers. Inverse creep can be measured by the method demonstrated by Nachane. The objective of the work described in book was to design an instrument, which can measure the instantaneous extension or contraction of yarn. Automation in storing the data is achieved. Stored data can then be easily analyzed. Creep and inverse creep of four textile yarn types at various levels of stress have been studied by using developed device.

Daher herrscht in den Banken derzeit noch Unsicherheit darüber, wie das neue Instrument des Risikocontrollings umzusetzen ist.Diese Arbeit stellt ein Verfahren für quantitative inverse Stresstests ausführlich und beispielhaft vor. Dabei wird gezeigt, dass dieses Verfahren nicht nur auf Portfolios von Kreditnehmern gleicher Ratingklassen angewendet werden kann, sondern auch auf beliebig zusammengesetzte Portfolios. Over the past fifteen years, the number of publications on inverse problems has grown rapidly. Therefore, these notes can be neither a comprehensive introduction nor a complete mono­ graph on the topics considered; it is designed to provide the main ideas and methods. Throughout, we have not striven for the most general statement, but the clearest one which would cover the most situations. The presentation is intended to be accessible to students whose mathematical background includes basic courses in ad­ vanced calculus, linear algebra and functional analysis. Each chapter contains bibliographical comments. At the end of Chap­ ter 1 references are given which refer to topics which are not studied in this book. I am very grateful to Mrs. B. Given a record of a limited number of electrodes (e.g. 21) that are placed on scalp, it is the task to estimate a three dimensional distribution of neural currents in the brain. The actual thesis deals with this problem and proposes a propabilistic Bayesian approach that assumes the distribution of neural currents to be heterogeneous - active and inactive regions in the brain are expected. This can be formalized with a mixture distribution. Furthermore, an expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm is presented that performs simultaneous classification and computation of neural currents, given an EEG measurement.Zusammenfassung:Diese Bachelorarbeit thematisiert das inverse EEG Problem. Thus it becomes imperative to devise some means to cater for such a problem and estimate the heat flux inversely. Adaptive state estimator is one such technique which works by incorporating the semi-Markovian concept into a Bayesian estimation technique thereby developing an inverse input and state estimator consisting of a bank ofparallel adaptively weighted Kalman filters. The problem presented in this study deals with a three dimensional system of a cube with one end conducting heat flux and all the other sides are insulated while the temperatures are measured on the accessible faces of the cube. The measurements taken on these accessible faces are fed into the estimation algorithm and the input heat flux and the temperature distribution at each point in the system is calculated.A variety of input heat flux scenarios have been examined to underwrite the robustness of the estimation algorithm and hence insure its usability in practical applications. The focus of this book is on «ill-posed inverse problems». These problems cannot be solved only on the basis of observed data. The building of solutions involves the recognition of other pieces of a priori information. These solutions are then specific to the pieces of information taken into account. Clarifying and taking these pieces of information into account is necessary for grasping the domain of validity and the field of application for the solutions built. For too long, the interest in these problems has remained very limited in the signal-image community. However, the community has since recognized that these matters are more interesting and they have become the subject of much greater enthusiasm. From the application field’s point of view, a significant part of the book is devoted to conventional subjects in the field of inversion: biological and medical imaging, astronomy, non-destructive evaluation, processing of video sequences, target tracking, sensor networks and digital communications. The variety of chapters is also clear, when we examine the acquisition modalities at stake: conventional modalities, such as tomography and NMR, visible or infrared optical imaging, or more recent modalities such as atomic force imaging and polarized light imaging.

These ternary systems are treated like dispersions of colloidal particles. Viscosity investigations for dilute and concentrated samples for both systems show an anomalous maximum with increasing droplet size. In contrast to speculations inearlier work, the maximum is attributed to the appearance of vesicles. They are readily observed in microscopy and lead to non-exponential relaxation in dynamic light scattering. A low to moderate concentration of the vesicles is suggested as an explanation for the observed Newtonian rheology. Furthermore a lower phase boundary corresponding to emulsification failure has been detected for AOT-heptane-D2O, useful as a starting point for systematic studies of droplet interactions, droplet shape fluctuations and percolation phenomena in AOT systems. The resultsare discussed in the context of earlier investigations of these inverse microemulsions.

Bistatic radar consists of a radar system which comprises a transmitter and receiver which are separated by a distance comparable to the expected target distance. This book provides a general theoretical description of such bistatic technology in the context of synthetic aperture, inverse synthetic aperture and forward scattering radars from the point of view of analytical geometrical and signal formation as well as processing theory. Signal formation and image reconstruction algorithms are developed with the application of high informative linear frequency and phase code modulating techniques, and numerical experiments that confirm theoretical models are carried out. The authors suggest the program implementation of developed algorithms. A theoretical summary of the latest results in the field of bistatic radars is provided, before applying an analytical geometrical description of scenarios of bistatic synthetic aperture, inverse synthetic aperture and forward scattering radars with cooperative and non-cooperative transmitters. Signal models with linear frequency and phase code modulation are developed, and special phase modulations with C/A (coarse acquisition) and P (precision) of GPS satellite transmitters are considered.
