This work investigated the auto-recovery processes of River Illo in Ota, Nigeria from abattoir wastes which is one of the most common pollution activities in developing countries. The analysis was done using the modified Streeter-Phelps equations. This work should help shed light on how the natural purification processes of rivers can be further enhanced. The growth of industrialisation has increased water pollution. Industries and individuals produce pollutants that are discharged into waters. Uncontrolled water pollution results in health hazards to human beings and other livings. Thus there is a need to impose water pollution control measures to reduce pollution to an extent where very little pollutants are discharged into waters. States have enacted statutes for controlling water pollution in order to achieve the safety of waters. Legislation impose measures, such as a permit and its conditions, that must be respected to discharge pollutant or trade effluent into waters, otherwise the discharger becomes a polluter and liable to criminal sanctions. Statutes provide fines or imprisonment, or both, for water polluters and severely punish a subsequent offender. Corporation and corporate officers are punished for the offence of polluting waters. Environmental audit or service orders restores the environment in its previous condition and may be used to detect and correct an inappropriate management system. Prosecution for environmental crime must be used as a last resort.

The most amount of air pollution in this refinery is relevant to non-burnet Hydrocarbons and hydro sulfur. Wastewaters in this refinery after treatment enter to Miankaleh wetland, but this wetland is a protected area and animal habitat, as a result, we should try retaining the Miankaleh. This refinery does not have Environmental Management System and this is a new work and method. Performing this system is a management objective. Establishing EMS in this paper is a practice for doing Environmental Management System in Mazandaran refinery, at the end of thesis reach to suggestions. Miankaleh refinery is directed with traditional approach system and we improve and extol that to modern Environmental management system. The concepts of sustainability and greener shipping are expected to be the prime focus of transportation in the coming decades, but the impending developments require a deep understanding of the emission impact and costs related to the inputs and outputs of world economies.This textbook quantifies and analyses atmospheric pollution for Hong Kong trade-lane specific container activities over the past decade using a new methodology, EcoTransIT World, a web-based application. Input data is generated from the Hong Kong Census & Statistics Department while emissions and energy consumption for the entire energy chain are measured as an output. Based on the findings, the costs to the society are estimated by an advanced top-down approach with a general market price for carbon. The results certainly indicate that the shift from long-distance to short-distance world container sourcing for laden container throughput has a positive effect on the environment. Antibiotic resistance patterns of bacterial microbiomes isolated from the New Calabar River were used to build up models on the possible effects of environmental pollutants on antibiotic resistance. The microbiomes were obtained from water and sediment samples collected at georeferenced sites on the river. This is the basis of the microbiome biogeochemico-graphic information system (MBCGIS). A combination of nutritional and physicochemical factors is presented as support for the existence of microbiome antibiograms in ecosystems challenged with environmental pollutants.High incidence of antibiotic resistance in environments with pronounced industrial and human activities, suggest possible effects of pollutants on the ecosystem. A weak correlation (r = 0.28) between incidence of antibiotic resistance and faecal coliforms implies that the antibiotic resistance patterns of microbiomes may be due to factors that are not linked to faecal pollution. The presence of chemical pollutants may contribute to the risk of increased antibiotic resistance in the environment. Sustainable development demands rigorous legislation for the protection of natural water resources.

Data was collected using structured questionnaires based on Table Eleven, a total number of 40 and 15 from target group and government officials were selected respectively in Shinyanga district. Based on the approach of the Table of Eleven, the research reveals the factors affecting compliance behaviours of the target groups and look into the performance of enforcement system in improving compliance. In practice the process of assessing overall risk can be difficult, and balancing resources used to mitigate between risks with a high probability of occurrence but lower loss versus a risk with high loss but lower probability of occurrence can often be mishandled. Intangible risk management identifies a new type of a risk that has a 100% probability of occurring but is ignored by Government or organization due to a lack of identification ability. In Nigeria, some time, this is what is obtainable in the social and physical environment. In view of the above fact, environmental laws have been put in place to regulate every activity on the environment to manage the risk involved in these process and stage of development in other to avoid an impending or a looming catastrophe. Lahore is one of the cities most effected by uncontrolled noise pollution in Pakistan. The most important factor of noise pollution is the road traffic. The main objective of this study was to analyze and evaluate road traffic noise and to measure its effects on the population of Lahore city. A weighting sound level meter was used in the study. All the measurements were taken at a height of about 1.2 m from the ground at 56 sample sites. The spatial noise pattern was shown in maps. These were also drawn to show buffers dividing areas into moderate, high and extremely high risk zones in accordance with noise risk levels. The maps were additionally divided in day and night time maps, each with graduated symbols. The main day-night values were exceeding the permissible environmental standards used in Pakistan. Therefore, a survey was conducted to study the diseases caused by noise pollution in the areas with highest noise levels.

To this end, this paper investigates the relationship between energy consumption, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and economic growth of the G8 countries over the period of 56 years spanning 1960 through 2015 using both the Fully Modified and Dynamic OLS estimation techniques. The empirical investigation establishes the critical roles played by energy consumption and CO2 emissions on economic growth but in substantially opposite directions. While that of the former positively enhances economic growth, on the one hand, the latter negatively deters it. In addition, a long-run relationship is equally established but with the varied direction of causality. Finally, the study offers significant policy implications directed at using energy resource efficiently as well as curtailing environmental contaminants.

Current treatment techniques involve either periodic mechanical disruption of oral microbial biofilms or maintaining therapeutic concentrations of antimicrobials in the oral cavity, both of which are fraught with limitations. The development of alternative antibacterial therapeutic strategies therefore becomes important in the evolution of methods to control microbial growth in the oral cavity

Vehicular pollution aroused due to rapid urbanization & industrialization. Vehicles emit cocktails of pollutants which pose serious threat to plants & humans. In present study the concentrations of SO2 and NO2, particulate matter (PM) were estimated. The presence of metals and PAHs in PM were biomonitored using plants. The study was performed to know whether presence of these pollutants in PM have any genotoxic effect or not and for this, the genotoxicity of urban air pollutants using Tradescantia pallida micronucleus bioassay was performed. In present study air pollution tolerance index (APTI) of different plant species were calculated. Taking into consideration of APTI and various biological and socio-economic characters of these plants species, anticipated performance index (API) were also calculated. The findings show that on the basis of API, plants can be suggested for green belt development in urban areas to ameliorated urban air pollution.
