With respect to the importance of multi-objective optimization in the context of the today's information processing and analysis, as well as the limitation of current approaches to treat large and complex tasks in practical time and little adjustment costs, this work proposes a novel optimization concept, based on data domain transformations and subsequent cluster analyses to solve multi-objective optimization problems. The approach abstracts the transposition of large, high-dimensional and diverse data models to low-dimensional uniform equivalents within an independent framework, which is optimized regarding data similarity conservation, i.e. the semantic relations of the data items to each other are preserved, and low runtime complexity, i.e. linearly increasing model sizes also cause only linearly growing run­times in spite of the consideration of all data relations. The cluster analysis step is represented by an enhanced version of the k-Means algorithm, which is designed to group large numbers of data items to large numbers of clusters with also linear time complexity. Applying and adapting these both components to generic segmentation and pattern recognition tasks as two representative multi-objective optimization problems, illustrate and prove the usability of the proposed concept, by solving these tasks with high qualities of results and low runtimes with virtually linear time complexities. Since the core technique used in exploring for Oil and Gas is the Reflection Seismology; then, modern approach to Seismic data acquisitions and interpretation is of prime essence. A powerful, unconventional Interpretation tool; Spectral decomposition, has been used to visualize (in 3 - D) a thin sandstone reservoir in "X - Field" Niger Delta, Nigeria. The study aimed at mapping thin sandstone beds which have been considered sub seismic or un-mapable using conventional interpretation methods. The suite of Well log data and seismic data were acquired and qualitatively and quantitatively interpreted using RocDok and OpendTect software. The identified thin beds were delineated perfectly using the spectral decomposition tool which was portrayed through amplitude variations. However, new hydrocarbon prospects were identified through similarities of amplitude signature.

The software WT is designed for well test data analysis in multilayer geological formations under unsteady pumping/recharge/recovery, free-flow, slug, packer and interference test conditions. The software WF is reduced to the predefined fluxes in the selected model layers but considers the effect of maximum 4 straight line fix head or barrier boundaries. The program CW simulates the 3D steady-state flow to and in the collector well discharging a homogeneous, anisotropic aquifer. The latter is recharged by either circular or straight line boundary. The software HC is developed for parameter optimization and can be used in association with the WT software. 27 independent well flow solutions are selected from the literature to validate the software WT, WF and CW. 12 case studies under various test conditions are presented. The number of applied model layers ranges from 1 to 109. The automatic calibrations concluded with acceptable model fit and yielded reasonable formation and well parameters.

The target population for the study consisted of residents of Valley, Westville Park and Sisk, council authorities, Environmental Management Agency (EMA) officer, waste collectors, members of community based organizations (CBOs) and the environmental health officer. The total population was 569 and the sample size was 235. Stratified systematic sampling was employed to select 220 households and the rest except CBO members were picked using purposive sampling. Once the track test was conducted, the results are analysed by data interpretation techniques needed in identifying if the car is oversteering or understeering by noticing certain traces on Motec I2 Pro from conducted track tests data. The lap runs were performed on Snetterton Race Circuit. The car's setup was then fine tuned in order to counteract oversteer/understeer to provide improved laptimes.

This report summarizes the results of six year (1996-97 to 2002-03) of Remote Sensing (RS) based district-level wheat acreage estimates and agromet model predicted wheat yields. District-level preharvest wheat production forecast in major wheat growing districts in Himachal Pradesh was attempted under crop acreage and production estimation (CAPE) project. Single date Indian Remote Sensing Satellite digital data, coinciding with flowering to grain filling stage of wheat was analysed for wheat acreage estimation using maximum likely hood (MXL) supervised classification and district boundary mask approach. Agrometeorologial yield models were developed for wheat yield forecast using meteorological data such as minimum-maximum temperatures, rainfall and sunshine hours. The meteorological indices viz. Growing Degree Days (GDD), Temperature Difference (TD), Accumulated Rainfall (ARF) and Accumulated Sunshine Hours (ASH) were computed and used in model development. This report also brings out problems in wheat acreage estimation in hilly terrains using Remote Sensing data.

Product quality is dependent on the type and amount of catalyst, type of oil feedstock, alcohol-to-oil ratio, etc. In terms of the best process, currently the alkali catalyzed process is the most profitable while the enzymatic based one is even more promising due to the lower consumption of energy and water; however it requires that the enzyme cost is reduced. The reason that biodiesel is not utilized widely around the world is due to the high cost of raw materials. To overcome this, one can use lower quality oils, such as Waste Cooking Oil (WCO). A lot of research has been carried out on the production of biodiesel from fresh vegetable and animal oil sources but the use of Waste Cooking Oil, such as palm oil, etc. has not been well documented. Then the aim of this current project is to analyze and optimize the conditions for biodiesel production from Waste Cooking Oil, by investigating interaction effects among process variables (temperature, oil-to-methanol molar ratio and catalyst loading) using SPC and other tools. Thus this project focuses on making biodiesel processes better and more efficient.

It is characterized by changes in physical appearance, cognition, emotion, and behavior. It is important to maintain a relative well-being to pass the stage of adolescence successfully. Most adolescents pass this stage without many problems. But some adolescents do face problems and consider the challenges unsolvable. This study aims to find out the well-being and anxiety across the phases of adolescence. A between subject design was used. The sample consisted of 300 adolescents and purposive sampling was used. Indian Scale of Adolescence Well-being, WHO Well-being Index, and Manifest Anxiety Scale were used. The data was analysed using One Way ANOVA, post-hoc test, and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. There was a significant difference found across the phases of adolescents on three dimensions (personal competence, interpersonal trust, and achievement) of Indian Scale of Adolescence Well-being and total well-being as measured by WHO Well-being Index.
