Tanzania economy depends on agriculture as its main stay, but still rural farmers suffer from poor road transport and high cost of transport of products to markets. Despite the efforts made by the government concerning road transport, still there is inadequate agricultural production in rural areas. Because of this structure of human settlement and production, road transport system assumes an extraordinarily important role in the economic development of an area. The study evaluates the impact of road transport on agricultural production. It was conducted at Mikese, Kiroka, Kinole and Mkambarani wards located in Morogoro District.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2015 in the subject Computer Science - Bioinformatics, Technical University of Munich, language: English, abstract: Nuclear transport of proteins is a basic cellular mechanism preceding a lot of biological processes. The classical transport mechanism for nuclear proteins involves karyopherins importing and exporting the proteins. The karyopherins recognize typically nuclear transport signals in the protein sequence. Three main types of nuclear localization signals (NLS) are focused in the scientific field of nuclear protein transport: monopartite, bipartite and PY-NLS. In studies on nuclear export signals (NES) the specific type of leucine-rich signals is often investigated. The first goal of this thesis was to update NLSdb, a database containing 114 experimental and 194 potential NLS, to the current state of available data. Towards this end, a set of 2452 novel signals with published experimental evidence was extracted from the literature and used as development set. An in silico mutagenesis approach was applied to this set to detect 4301 novel potential NLS in nuclear proteins. We matched these potential NLS in protein sequences of unannotated subcellular localization to identify nuclear proteins. We were able to confirm the predicted localization using our potential NLS in literature. This analysis does not only show their compatibility with hinterland traffic but also their cost factors on the way from a seaport to the hinterland. It is shown which phases a container is passing as well as which expanses are entailed by these operations.As a first step, a large theoretical basic knowledge shall be created. Therefore, all locations and operators of the supply chain for a hinterland container are introduced, general requirements as well as processes and problems are presented, too. After presenting the transportation means and their expanses, the developed cost model is applied on an example. The case example shall illustrate single characteristics of each transport mode and shows the proportion of costs. Finally, the total transport costs for the selected route are determined and the transport modes can be compared again. Moreover, a recommendation for the carrier choice of this example is given. This recommendation is specially focused on the aspects costs and time which represent the most important factors in the logistics sector.

Propagation of plane elastic waves in an infinite porous medium containing two immiscible fluids has been investigated. Four plane waves can propagate with distinct phase speeds in such a medium. Out of these four waves-three are compressional waves and one is transverse wave. Out of these four waves, two compressional waves and one transverse wave are the same waves earlier encountered by Biot in the porous medium saturated by single fluid. The appearance of the third compressional wave is new and arises due to the presence of second fluid in the medium. Using potential method, reflection and transmission of plane waves is studied at elastic/porous and porous/porous plane interface. The effect of inertial coupling is noticed on the reflection/transmission coefficients at elastic/porous interface.The possibility of plane wave propagation has also been studied in fractured porous medium containing two immiscible fluids. The reflection/transmission phenomena are also investigated at elastic/fractured porous interface. Lastly, the dispersion equation of stoneley type surface waves has been investigated at the boundary of a cylindrical borehole in a porous medium containing two fluids.
