Das Management kann mit herkömmlichen Methoden und Organisationsstrukturen den Herausforderungen des Unternehmens scheinbar nicht mehr begegnen. Im Mittelpunkt der systemtheoretisch-kybernetischen Managementlehre steht deshalb die Idee der Lebensfähigkeit. Die Erkenntnisse dieser Disziplin können herangezogen werden, um zu erläutern wie die Organisationsarchitektur von Unternehmen als Reaktion auf die Komplexitätsentwicklung effizient gestaltet werden kann. In India PDS is not the only answer for improving food security of the poor because it can help only those who have purchasing power. Other anti- poverty programs have to be strengthened as part of the economic reforms for creating income generation among the poor and vulnerable sections of the people. So Public Distribution System will become a fruitful food security program if it is merged with the employment generating programs and nutrition based programs. From the above study I see that National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (NREGS) has the great potential in enhancing food security and livelihood security of the rural poor. From this study I have seen that Public Distribution System is socially viable but it is not economically viable. Actual poor people will be the ultimate looser if this scheme is abolished completely. As it is a socially viable approach, we should not abolish it completely. Rather we have to remove the loopholes inherent in it. We can get better result if PDS is merged with employment schemes like NREGS. As NREGS is self targeting, the non poor people will be automatically opt out if it is merged with Public Distribution System.

Diabetes mellitus is a disease in the glucose-insulin endocrine metabolic regulatory system, in which the pancreas either does not release insulin or does not properly use insulin to uptake glucose in the plasma, which is referred as hyperglycemia. Complications of diabetes mellitus include retinopathy, nephropathy, peripheral neuropathy and blindness. The purpose of this study is to model the dynamic of the short-term glucose regulatory system (GRS) in man and its hormonal regulation by considering all the feedback loops which are responsible of controlling the glucose metabolism in man. The model proposed in this work used the system dynamics (SD) approach which was designed for studying complex systems. This SD model consists of twenty-three negative (balance) loops and six compartments. The model was validated during wide range of clinical test inputs, to be sure that this model accurately represents the really endocrine system. Understanding the mechanism underlying glucose-insulin oscillations and determination of the origin of the glucose-insulin levels oscillations is another purpose of this model. Other applications for this model also have been explored.

The validation of the so developed model is done by experimenting in a working system.

Since mathematical models express our understanding of how nature behaves, we use them to validate our understanding of the fundamentals about systems (which could be processes, equipment, procedures, devices, or products). First, we postulate a mechanism, then derive a model grounded in that mechanistic understanding. If the model does not fit the data, our understanding of the mechanism was wrong or incomplete. Patterns in the residuals can guide model improvement. Alternately, when the model fits the data, our understanding is sufficient and confidently functional for engineering applications. This book details methods of nonlinear regression, computational algorithms,model validation, interpretation of residuals, and useful experimental design. The focus is on practical applications, with relevant methods supported by fundamental analysis. This book will assist either the academic or industrial practitioner to properly classify the system, choose between the various available modeling options and regression objectives, design experiments to obtain data capturing critical system behaviors, fit the model parameters based on that data, and statistically characterize the resulting model. The technical analysis is performed for radial distribution system (RDS).The proposed algorithm evaluates the base condition of loss and bus voltage and then generate populations of solutions at first stage. Optimization of DG unit size and locate the optimal bus can be done with the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. The proposed paradigm works with the objective that minimize the active power loss under a constraint of voltage limit and DG size limit.Finally, the conclusion is that DG unit can locate optimally with optimized size to the distribution system for the voltage profile improvement of the buses and also the total loss of system is reduced. It is also concluded that the model can be used for any radial distribution systems.

Moisture content (mc) within the cotton fibre is an important aspect for all stages of the ginning process. However due to the process dynamics, mc is currently being controlled by regulating the water and air temperatures from the Humidifiers. Human intervention and lack of consistence on set-points determination has resulted in inconsistent mc during humidification. This procedure requires a control system which will be able to adjust the process set-points automatically by eliminating the need for human intervention. In this paper a robust Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) system for a Samuel Jackson Humidifier is presented. This system improves upon the existing system by creating a closed loop controller with parameters that can be updated to change the response from reference model. The control parameters are then updated based on this error thus the parameters converge to ideal values that cause the plant response to match the response of the reference model.

As the result of this disturbance there were two blackouts. In first blackout only the Northern Grid was affected but in the second blackout Northern, Eastern and North-Eastern grid collapsed. A committee formed by the government analyzed the events that resulted in the collapse of system and pointed out no of factors that lead to disturbance.Whole grid collapsed under load encroachment condition. In this thesis different factors have been analyzed using PSCAD simulation and solutions have been proposed.Approximate model of Indian power system has been developed in PSCAD using approximate parameters given in Grid Failure Report issued by the Indian government. Increase in installed capacity of power system and its impact on system frequency and rotor angle has been studied. A new algorithm has been proposed for distance relay operation in Zone 3 to avoid power system blackout using Indian grid model. One of the main factors that lead to the collapse of whole system was the operation of zone 3 distance relay on 400kV Bina-Gwalior Line. This scheme will improve system stability under heavy load conditions. A simplified model in PSCAD was established in order to study the zone 3 protection of distance relay.

As legislations have become stricter and the competition on markets is getting stronger, companies facing return flows strive for the implementation of efficient and cost-effective reverse logistic procedures. At the same time, when managing reverse logistics, they are not only confronted with a high degree of uncertainties concerning the quality, quantity and timing or the product returns, but also with a dynamically changing environment. Various aspects, such the increasing amount of return flows, shorter repair and lead times as well as increasing disposal costs, affect the reverse logistic system and need to be managed proficiently. Additionally, handling product returns requires supportive computer aided modelling tools that are capable of handling the dynamic and complex characteristics of the reverse logistic system and allow an improved estimation of the impact of a changing environment and management decisions. For the purpose of this study, the system dynamics modelling approach has been identified as particularly suitable for illustrating the system in question with a special focus on understanding the dynamic behaviour over time. Different current sensing techniques are analyzed and the chosen technique is modeled and simulated. The BMR450 system with measurement circuit model is implemented in MATLAB Simulink and SimPowersystems. Three different models of the buck converter are derived, simulated and compared.

Seasonal precipitation and temperature reconstructions based on tree-ring chronologies were implemented into the hydrological modelling system PREVAH (PREcipitation-Runoff-EVApotranspiration-HRU model) to model past annual and monthly hydrological cycles back to 500 B.C. Two Swiss catchments were selected for which the hydrological modelling System PREVAH has been successfully calibrated: The Murg stream in the canton of Thurgau and the Dischmabach stream in the canton of Graubuenden. Unfortunately, due to an internal model error, false volume corrections were computed by PREVAH. Therefore, no statistical tests regarding absolute values were conducted. However, correlation coefficients were calculated and for now, this first attempt does detect paleohydroclimatic trends. The core of the system is a micro-kernel fulfilling the same functions as a traditional operating system kernel: Protection, communication, domain termination, and resource control. An overview of the two main approaches, the Lagrangian discrete particle model and the Eulerian granular phase model is given. Moreover these two approaches are combined to a hybrid model to use the benefits of the discrete and continuous description. This safes computational time and increase the efficiency of particle laden flow simulations. Furthermore the models are extended to poly-disperse particles including a simple agglomeration model based on a population balance equation. Finally the usability of the models is shown at a pneumatic particle transport system including particle strand building and the separation of particles using an industrial cyclone.

The hydrological cycle is a major part of the hydrological system and its components are precipitation, evaporation, snow melt, infiltration, run off, ground water movement etc. The hydrological modeling is a system concept comprising the effects of all the components involving in the hydrological cycle. In this study, a comparison of hydrological models for inflow computation in the Modi river, a tributary of Kali Gandaki river, has been carried out by using HBV a lumped and LANDPINE a distributed model although, at first both models were developed for Scandinavian catchments. The HBV model is a conceptual precipitation run off model which is used to simulate the run off process in a catchment based on observed data of precipitation, air temperature and potential evapotranspiration. LANDPINE is a distributed hydrological rainfall runoff model to study the effects of land use changes in runoff from catchment. It operates in integration with a geological information system, usually used for preparation of input data and analysis and presentation of simulation results. The first modified model contains the same explanatory variables as the Fama-French Model but with an additional AR(1) process. The second modification contains instead of an additional AR(1) an AR(2) process. Evaluated by the adjusted R² and the Akaike information criterion, the Fama-French model yields a higher model-fit than the CAPM. The modified Fama-French Model with an AR(2) process leads to significant results for the twice lagged return in the model in four out of six tested portfolios. Therefore, the in-sample regression reveals a higher model-fit of the modified Fama-French model with AR(2) in comparison to the other three models. Since the results differ from a regression in the subsequent period, the results are most likely spurious. Nevertheless, the authors show the high-er model-fit of the Fama-French Three Factor Model in relation to the CAPM.

In the modern economic world, the options contracts are used because they allow to hedge against the vagaries and risks refers to fluctuations in the prices of the underlying assets. The determination of the price of these contracts is of great importance for investors.We are interested in problems of options pricing, actually the European and Quanto options on a financial asset. The price of that asset is modeled by a multi-dimentional jump diffusion with stochastic volatility. Otherwise, the first model considers the volatility as a continuous process and the second model considers it as a jump process. Finally in the 3rd model, the underlying asset is without jump and volatility follows a model CEV without jump. This model allow better to take into account some phenomena observed in the markets. We develop numerical methods that determine the values of prices for these options. We first write the model as an integro-differential stochastic equations system "EIDS", of which we study existence and unicity of solutions. Then we relate the resolution of PIDE to the computation of the option value.
