Steganography is a technique of information security that hides secret information within seemingly harmless carrier. It is useful for transmitting the secret information over open networks. Steganalysis is a process in which a steganalyzer cracks the cover object to get the hidden data. LSB replacement is the simplest and important technique of image steganography. In this technique the bits are selected based on some criteria and the selected ones are replaced by the bits from secret information. The combination of Huffman Encoding and DCT coefficient based LSB replacement method is implemented in MATLAB and analyzed for the results obtained. Lower the information to be hidden per pixel in carrier image better the stego image can be obtained. Hence better the selection criteria and less the number of bits to alter per pixel can lead to high end result

A new tomographic imaging modality called magnetic particle imaging (MPI) has been proposed in 2005. Using the non-linear magnetization curve of specific nanoparticles, a detectable signal proportional to the concentration of these particles can be generated. For medical imaging the tracer material can be injected into the blood system. Due to fast image acquisition, not only morphological, but also functional imaging is possible. The feasibility of medical imaging with this technique could be demonstrated at real time imaging of a beating mouse heart. Spatial encoding is provided by superimposing dedicated external magnetic fields. For the resulting shape of this field a field free line has been proposed. This work presents the implementation of the MPI system with a discretely rotatable and dynamically translatable field free line.

The discrete wavelet transform (DWT) plays a central role in a number of signal and image processing applications. The lifting scheme is a new algorithm proposed for the implementation of the wavelet transform. It can reduce the computational complexity of DWT involved with the convolution implementation. The lifting scheme consists of the following three steps Split, Predict and Update step. In conventional Lifting Scheme based DWT, complete image is divided into two parts that is even and odd image pixels. One even and one odd image pixel leads to PREDICT and UPDATE steps. In Piecewise Lifting Scheme DWT, image is not divided into even and odd sections, but the complete image is windowed. Windowing technique is applied throughout the complete image so as to have equal number of pixels in each window. Lifting Scheme provides zoom in and zooms out of image. The main advantage of the proposed architecture is its inherent speed due to elimination of the multipliers in computing DWT/IDWT.

The goal of segmentation is to simplify and change the representation of an image into something that is more meaningful and easier to analyze. Image segmentation is typically used to locate objects and boundaries in images. In this book, an image resolution enhancing technique for 2D images extracted from an integral 3D image is described. To improve the resolution of the view-point image, its size is increased in horizontal direction by using one of the following interpolation methods: Bilinear, Bicubic and adaptive sub pixel interpolation methods. In Bilinear method new pixel value is calculated by the weighted average of 2x2 neighborhood pixels. In Bicubic method new pixel value is computed by taking a weighted average of 4x4 nearest neighborhood pixels. In adaptive sub pixel interpolation method fourth and fifth columns behind the micro lenses are extracted to obtain the fourth and fifth view point images. 1) Dimensional characteristics curves are extracted for both the frames. Vertical displacement value is calculated by aligning one curve with other Low resolution frame is incremented with vertical displacement value, which is known as aligned frame i.e. fifth pixel sub image. Then the interpolation process is performed using aligned frame and previous frame i.e. fourth pixel frame. Thus the high resolution image is obtained from several low resolution image frames.

This paper proposes a new vision-based probe card analysis technique that can be applied to a situation where the vision system is continuously running to take moving images for fast inspection. The approach taken in this paper is to operate the machine vision in time synchrony with the position sensing and to restore the blurred pixel data with the image restoration technique. The main concepts are demonstrated using an experimental test bed and a commercial probe card. Compared to the existing stop-and-go approach, the proposed technique can substantially enhance the inspection speed without additional cost for major hardware change.

The aim of this work was to perform quality control (QC) for six digital fluoroscopy units used for cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures. Measurements were based on the QC protocol developed in the framework of European Commission (EU) DIMOND III project. Measurements made included: beam quality (half-value layer, HVL), peak tube voltage (kVp) accuracy, automatic exposure control(AEC) and patient dose in terms of entrance surface air kerma rate plus image intensifier input air kerma rate. Dose measurements were made using Calibrated dose rate meter. Field limitation and source to skin distant measurements in addition to evaluation radiation protection tools for occupation exposure were performed. Image quality was evaluated in terms of spatial resolution and Contrast detail detectability. Patient dose measurements was performed using polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) patient equivalent phantom whereas image quality was assessed using Huettner Type 53 spatial frequency grating and TO10 contrast detail phantom.

Data compression is one of the important topics in computer science that is concerned in reducing the size of data. In this research, the RGB image has been transformed into YIQ color transform, then the I&Q band have been sampled down in order to get effective compression. To break the long encoding time of FIC, many enhanced methods are applied to traditional FIC based on using zero-mean method, in which a mean of range block is used instead of offset parameter which simplify and speed up the encoding time; Also reduce a domain pool by filtration a domain pool from those block with high entropy value, in addition to discard domain blocks which have some distance ratio from matching process. Another speeding up technique is proposed in this research based on suggesting symmetry predictor to reduce isometric trails from 8 to 1 trail. The work proves to have a good result in compression ratio and quality of reconstructed image.

The notion of Service Quality is found well documented throughout the literature and describes the interactive process between the customer and the service provider. In general, the SQM is a powerful technique to monitor customer satisfaction, helping to focus on key areas of improvement in order to establish a new baseline to the current service quality rating.The importance for service organisations is twofold: firstly, in the implications entailed in how to choose the most appropriate technique of service quality measurement, and secondly, in how service organisations can influence the perceptions of an individual customer/user in relation to the service encounter he/she is participating in. Empirically, this involves moving away from a standardised model of the same service for everybody to an approach where the best way of achieving excellent performance lies in addressing the subjective needs of an individual customer, providing precisely the specific service that reflects customers/ individuals' perceptions.In other words, service is not so much what the business does, per se, but what the customer experiences (Martin 1999i).

Consensus, or the level of agreement among the senior management team of a firm, had been the subject of interest in strategic management literature. Prior studies seemed to suggest that a higher level of agreement among the executive team would be associated with enhanced firm performance. This study extended prior researches on consensus by finding out if senior managers’ consensus on quality improvement decision processes (which pertained to management procedures for selecting and implementing an improvement theme or project) will be positively related to firm quality performance. In addition, this study attempted to find out if the firm’s emphasis on differentiation strategy vis-à-vis cost leadership strategy will moderate the relationship between consensus on quality improvement and firm quality performance. The study also determined if perceptions on market uncertainty will moderate the relationship between consensus on quality improvement and the quality performance of firms. Primary data were gathered through a survey of 45 Philippine firms taken as sample. Statistical analyses used multiple regression to test the hypothesized relationships among the variables studied.

Nowadays high definition imaging is an important issue in satellite projects and cameras. Several countries are trying to implement better imaging device for their applications, such as satellite applications. For example, forecasting, army, forests and etc. In this book a brief discussion is presented for imaging device and then a method is used for reducing the fixed pattern noise (FPN) in image detector. The method that is presented in the following uses a column shifting technique to correct the fixed pattern noise in an image sensor. FPN is an important parameter in imaging devices such as CCD or CMOS. These imaging sensors have widespread applications, such as star trackers, visible and IR imaging devices. Therefore the precision improvement is an important factor in their performance. In addition, the block diagram structure of imaging detector is fully studied in chapter 1 to 3 and then a method has been presented to reduce the FPN noise.
