Until now, lateral two-dimensional methods are used to assess three-dimensional changes that occur in the facial soft tissue of orthodontic patients. In this study a method for three- dimensional morphometric assessment of facial soft tissue changes following orthodontic treatment was introduced. Forty patients who underwent orthodontic treatment that resulted in lateral profile changes in the facial soft tissue were included in the study. Twenty patients underwent orthodontic treatment that resulted in facial soft tissue profile retraction and twenty patients underwent orthodontic treatment that resulted in soft tissue profile advancement. Two dimensional comparisons between pre-treatment and post- treatment lateral radiographs were carried out . Then, computerized pre-treatment and post-treatment three-dimensional head models were constructed for each patient utilizing frontal and lateral photographs. Computer graphic facial analysis was carried out to measure the three-dimensional volumetric deformation in each head model after orthodontic treatment in order to determine the changes that occur in the facial soft tissue of patients following orthodontic treatment.

Therefore, not only shape but also kinematic information is conveyed in an efficient manner that can be easily implemented in CAD/CAM systems and eventually interpreted by CNC manufacturing equipment. By using dual quaternions, quaternions and planar quaternions, the displacements of a rigid body in Cartesian space are mapped into points in the image space of displacements, transforming the kinematic problem of motion interpolation into a geometric problem where the powerful techniques for curve and surface interpolation from Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD) can be readily applied. Three techniques are developed using quaternion biarcs, a four point interpolatory subdivision scheme and its tensor product version. A preliminary approach for mechanism simulation using subdivision schemes is also attempted. The results obtained have applications in CNC tool path generation, robot path planning, and computer animation.

A finite-element model of a two-dimensional slice of human atrial tissue for the study of the electrograms and propagation of action potentials is presented. Action potential propagation is described by a reaction-diffusion model coupled with the complex Courtemanche et al. atrial cell model. The effects of recording electrode size and location on electrograms are presented. Action potential propagation as a result of atrial fibrillation ablation therapy is also modeled by defining a lesion area with decreased electrical conductivity. The effect of electrical conductivity and geometry of the lesion was also studied. It is shown that the success rate of atrial fibrillation ablation therapy is primarily correlated with the creation of continuous ablation lines and also the formation of fibrous tissue.

Spirituality is an important part of diversity as determined by the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics and the Education Policy and Education Standards. However, social work education is lacking in this area. Social workers report feeling unprepared and uncomfortable in addressing spirituality with clients. The purpose of this study was to compare hospice, mental health, and hospital social workers' perspectives, utilization and education on the use of spirituality in practice. A total of 41 social workers were surveyed and answers were analyzed with a Chi-Square and One-Way ANOVA. There was no difference in perspectives of spirituality between hospice, mental health and hospital social work respondents. There were some minor statistically significant differences in the utilization and training components, but overall, they were low in all three groups.

Final component produced are acceptable as per IS standard UNI EN 20286-I (1995) and DIN 16901 standards for plastics.

Researchers have started to investigate the possible negative effects of technology use on college academic performance, but the results have been mixed. The objective of this study was to test at what extent does laptop usage affect student's academic performance for undergraduate's students in University of Rwanda, Huye campus-college of Business and Economics. The total sample size was 235 students in which 91 students, own laptop computer and 144 did not own laptop computer, all students were from year one, two and year three applied statistics based on multistage sampling design. Self-administered questionnaires were used to obtain data to be used in analysis, asking questions regarding to the ownership of laptop, type of use, laptop literacy and internet use frequency. Usman Monday Tillage Practices and Fertilizer Rates in Maize-Soybean Intercrop

A two year experiment was conducted at the Teaching & Research Farm, University of Agriculture, Makurdi to determine the effect of tillage practices & fertilizer rates on Maize-Soybean Intercrop. The experimental design consisted of three factors: cropping system at two levels (sole and intercrops), tillage practices at two levels (zero tillage and ridges) and fertilizer rates at three levels (0, 150 and 300 kg/ha of NPK 20:10:10). The treatments were laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in a split-split plot arrangement and replicated three times. The cropping systems were assigned to the main plots, tillage practices to sub-plots and the fertilizer rates were in the sub-sub plots. Results showed that Intercropping reduced the yields of both crops compared with their sole crops. There were higher yields from crops cultivated on ridges as a result of improved access to soil moisture than no-tillage. Applying fertilizer significantly (P<0.05) increased the yield of the component crops than when no fertilizer was applied. Intercropping resulted in yield advantage. Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) was (1.53) in 2013 and (1.35) in 2014 showing 35 % and 26 % land saved.

Since the middle of the 20th Century yield design approaches have been identified with the lower and upper bound theorem of limit analysis theory – a theory associated with perfect plasticity. This theory is very restrictive regarding the applicability of yield design approaches, which have been used for centuries for the stability of civil engineering structures. This book presents a theory of yield design within the original “equilibrium/resistance” framework rather than referring to the theories of plasticity or limit analysis; expressing the compatibility between the equilibrium of the considered structure and the resistance of its constituent material through simple mathematical arguments of duality and convex analysis results in a general formulation, which encompasses the many aspects of its implementation to various stability analysis problems. After a historic outline and an introductory example, the general theory is developed for the three-dimensional continuum model in a versatile form based upon simple arguments from the mathematical theory of convexity. It is then straightforwardly transposed to the one-dimensional curvilinear continuum, for the yield design analysis of beams, and the two-dimensional continuum model of plates and thin slabs subjected to bending. Field and laboratory observations of the collapse of mechanical systems are presented along with the defining concept of the multi-parameter loading mode. The compatibility of equilibrium and resistance is first expressed in its primal form, on the basis of the equilibrium equations and the strength domain of the material defined by a convex strength criterion along with the dual approach in the field of potentially safe loads, as is the highlighting of the role implicitly played by the theory of yield design as the fundamental basis of the implementation of the ultimate limit state design (ULSD) philosophy with the explicit introduction of resistance parameters. The proposed system is able to generate parameters of multi-cavity gating-system for parts requiring multi-gates from the part model data. The other information required for working of the system includes material properties, die-casting process parameters and die-casting casting machine parameters which comes under the data initialization process. The parameters of the gating-system which are determined by the system are used for design of gating-system for the multi-cavity dies. This is done by updating the parameters of pre-modeled gating-system features stored as feature library. Chapter 3 , 4 and 5 present the various modules of the system along with its implementation on case-study parts. The results from the case-studies are quite encouraging and are in-line with the best industry practices.
